Spots and stains on carpet can become permanent if corrective action isn’t taken immediately! How do you remove spots and stains on carpet? Carpet stain removal can be simple if you follow these general rules below.

For liquid spills:

1. Blot as much of the spill as possible with a dry white cloth. If the spill is large enough, blot from the outside in to prevent spreading the spill.

2. After blotting, wet spray the area with plain water and blot again. Try to collect as much of the spill onto the white cloth as possible.

For solid spills:

1. Gently scrape up the solids with a rounded spoon and then vacuum.

If both of these procedures are ineffective and lead to staining:

1. Wet spray the area with plain water and, with a white cloth, blot as much as you can.

2. Before applying a cleaning chemical, test a small clean area on the carpet to make sure that the cleaning chemical doesn’t stain or do more harm. If the cleaning chemical is safe, apply a small amount of a designated cleaning chemical to a clean white cloth and blot. Below is a list of the types of stains and its appropriate chemical cleaner.
